Night vision goggles are a fairly advanced piece of technology. It was developed a couple of decades ago and has seen many improvements over this time. The reason that manufacturers make the screen green is because the human eye is able to detect shades of green better than any other color. This makes sense, because in lowlight situations we do not have a very good depth perception. For example if you’re in the woods with an pair of night vision goggles, being able to see a log right in front of you will make sure you don’t trip over it. The different shades of green would allow your brain to understand that there is a object right in front of you.
